EPS / v1 complete
Electrical Power System
Battery management, solar MPPT and protected 3.3 V and 5 V rails for every board in the stack.
What it does
The EPS harvests power from up to six body-mounted solar faces, stores it in four 18650 cells split across two independent packs, and delivers it to the rest of the satellite on 3.3 V and 5 V rails. Every rail has a software-controlled load switch, and the board is protected against over- and under-voltage and over-current with fuses, TVS diodes and a hardware watchdog. A USB-C passthrough lets the stack run on the bench.
Firmware
Written in C and built with CMake for arm-none-eabi. The firmware is layered app → services → HAL, with mocks so every service can be unit-tested on a laptop. Services cover battery management, MPPT, rail control, redundancy, telemetry, watchdog and logging, all wired through the shared osusat/core event bus and the osusat/messaging packet protocol.
Status
Revision v1r1 is complete: hardware, firmware, test framework and integration are all checked off, and the host build passes its unit tests. Known v1r1 issues are tracked in the design-review folder; v2 is next.
